Bayfield is situated on Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin, a position that affords easy access to the many outdoor activities at Apostle Islands and Big Bay State Park. Big Bay State Park, a short drive from Bayfield, is a 2,350-acre park characterized by sandstone bluffs, caves and a beach that spans more than a mile. Just southwest of Bayfield is Mount Ashwabay Ski Resort, which boasts five lifts and 13 trails.
